Avarti

How to organize and streamline theory studies
into a structured and clear experience
all within one app

background

The 'Avarti' app is a platform
for theoretical driving lessons
as part of the process of obtaining a driver's license

The app allows users to prepare for the theory exam
providing options for lesson learning, review questions
and practice exams similar to the official theory tests of the transportation ministry

Problem

The theory is a long and tedious stage
that needs to be completed in order to obtain the license

The learning material for the theory exam is filled with detailed and tedious information
The content is presented in a lengthy format, extending the learning time
This makes it challenging for users to pace their learning
and confidently determine when they are ready to take the exam

In addition, “Avarti” contains a large amount of text and information
with numerous issues in hierarchy and navigation options, complicating the learning process

Objective

To make learning something
easy and not burdensome

By offering short lessons and organizing topics clearly
as well as providing the option to watch recorded lessons
rather than just reading the material, learning can become more flowing and efficient

To instill a sense of confidence in the user

Through an organized personal area displaying all important information to the user:
which lesson they stopped at, their progress pace in each topic
and when they are sufficiently prepared for the exam
This will create a sense of calm and confidence in the user
helping them successfully pass the exam

Redesigning the interface

The app needs a redesign for a clean and organized appearance
minimizing text where possible
to help users learn without unnecessary distractions

Market research

I began researching competitive and popular apps for theory studies, examining websites as well
I also explored various apps for different types of learning
such as language learning, to understand the process of successful learning

User research

I went out to gather feedback from users of the app
as well as from users who studied
through other apps and methods
to understand their learning processes and experiences

50%

The material is presented
in a long and tedious manner

43%

It's challenging to determine
the pace both in lessons
and in terms of success in exams

32%

No time to study

Key points I've heard

The entire process of studying for the theory
took me time.
I started and stopped due to the load of exams,
and when I returned to
study, I couldn't remember where I left off
,
so I started learning again from the beginning.
It was frustrating

Racheli a student

I studied the lessons from videos that a friend sent me
but I took the exams in a separate app
It was challenging for me to navigate between them
and determine when I was truly ready for the exam

Uri

My biggest challenge was motivating myself to study
amidst all my other tasks and finding the motivation
to review and learn again
especially when it seemed like a huge amount of material

Sarit

Persona

From the analysis of the target audience,
I found that approximately 59% of users
are in their twenties, mostly single and in the midst of their studies
Based on these data, I constructed a persona

User journey

What does Eyal want?
To pass the theory exam successfully and quickly

User journey

Font

Classic font, slightly rounded, and visually pleasing

Icons

Minimalistic icons to maintain a clean and orderly appearance

Illustration style

The illustrations were inspired by traffic signs
they are simple and smooth

Color palette

The primary color chosen is orange
a color that conveys energy, enthusiasm, success
encouragement, and a desire to progress.
It's important for the user to feel especially motivated
during the learning of theoretical material

An additional color is dark blue, symbolizing lawfulness

Light and bright backgrounds convey a sense of order

Conclusions

Several conclusions emerged
from the research that pose challenges for users

:The pain points were analyzed and classified into three main categories

The user cannot know
if he is adequately prepared
for the exam, which is the most
important thing for him.
he is unaware of his progress,
how many exams the have
passed or failed, and dwelling
on these details wastes valuable time

01
Tracking the pace

The user wants to quickly
navigate to the areas that are important to him
he wish to easily move
from lessons to questions
and also to the exam

02
Lack of navigation

There is a substantial
amount of material,
divided into many lengthy
lessons with a lot of text.
The organization is confusing
for the topics

03
Lengthy and theoretical

03
To make the learning
process quick and enjoyable as much as possible

01/03

There was an additional consideration for the option
of listening to the lesson, but it was discarded
due to the need for visual content in most lessons

Adding the option of learning
through videos to make the learning experience
slightly more interactive
Additionally, keeping the option of reading
to allow users who want to learn quickly
